RE-CONSTRUCTING from preloved denim (pants, shirts, or jackets)
REJUVENATING a tired piece to make it extraordinary, extra special & uniquely you...

It is like solving a puzzle - a creative challenge using a variety of techniques including piecing/ sewing together, embellishing, embroidery, appliqué, hand sewing, hand painting, dyeing, decorating with vintage trims… transforming something old into something new to be worn again…it is like creating a collage. I find denim to be one of the most versatile fabrics to use, especially fun to use up old blue jeans…even to mix colors!

To design in a circular way; (I plug in to the “circles”), called taking something from cradle back to cradle - a new life instead of  linear and throwaway (the grave after a one time wear more typical with a ‘fast fashion’ item).

Step 1: Choose PRELOVED, PRE-OWNED materials from  

a)vintage b) thrifted/second hand c) my library d) donated pieces

Step 2: Clean where needed, deconstruct then reconstruct

 

Step 3: Design / GET CREATIVE to make into one of a kind pieces -
